Dr. Justin D. Bibee serves as the Manager of Reception & Placement, supporting a team of dedicated case workers who provide critical assistance to refugees in securing housing, employment, education, and healthcare. Dr. Bibee’s journey in the field of refugee assistance began in 2013 as a graduate student conducting research on conflict and peacebuilding, with a focus on the ramifications of conflict on the displacement of populations. In 2017, Dr. Bibee joined the United Nations on assignment in Tanzania where he worked in the Nyarugusu, Nduta, and Mtendeli refugee camps. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Durban University of Technology, a Master’s in Peacebuilding from the School for International Training (SIT), and a Bachelor’s in Justice Studies from Rhode Island College (RIC). In 2024, he served as a Global Fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Brown University. In May 2024, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Rhode Island College, becoming the second-youngest recipient of this honor in the college’s history. From 2014 to 2016, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.
