RI federal judge strikes down block on immigration benefits

We are proud to share that a federal judge has ruled in favor of the Refugee Dream Center, Dorcas International, and our partners in challenging policies that froze immigration benefits and work authorizations for thousands of immigrants and refugees.

For months, these policies created fear, uncertainty, and barriers for individuals and families working to build their lives in the United States. This decision reaffirms that the rule of law matters and that people deserve fair treatment under our immigration system.

As our Founder and Co-Executive Director Dr. Omar Bah stated, “They were wrong policies and today we have been vindicated. This ruling reaffirms the American doctrine of the rule of law, and place of refuge and equality for all that call it home.”

We remain committed to standing alongside immigrant and refugee communities and advocating for dignity, opportunity, and justice for all.
