Sahnun Osman- From Somalia to Providence

Sahnun, who hails from Somalia, spent his formative years there until he completed elementary school. In 2009, he moved to Egypt, where he resided until 2017, finishing his middle school education. His journey then took him to the United States, driven by his academic ambitions and the pursuit of better medical care. Recently, he joined RDC as an operations aide, quickly proving himself to be an invaluable asset to the team. His intelligence and enthusiasm shine through daily as he facilitates communication between refugees and staff, interpreting for both Arabic and Somali speakers. Sahnun embraces a variety of roles, including collecting donations, maintaining an organized office environment, providing translation services, and distributing food from the food bank. One of his most cherished experiences in America has been joining a soccer team composed of Syrian refugees through the Dorcas International Institute. Since he was a child, Sahnun has aspired to become a pilot, and in his leisure time, he enjoys playing soccer and shooting pool.
